First Friday favorites of 2017! Jumping right back into my blogging ways and giving you all the scoop on my favorites this week.
This is my go to hair product lately. Well, it has been since last March. I first heard about it from Shay over at Mix and Match Mama a couple years ago but finally made the purchase last year and I lovvvveeee it. I put it in after my shower when my hair is wet and I can either let it air dry (over night) or blow dry it and straighten/curl. It does an incredible job of taming frizz and smoothing out my hair. Lately, I’ve been going to the gym at night so I’ll shower before bed, put some living proof in my hair and then in the morning all I have to do is straighten the ends and maybe a few pieces that are a bit too crazy. As seen above, it gives my hair the perfect put together but not put together, tousled look. Ya feel?
Peter and I both got one of these in our stocking from Santa at my parent’s house this year ;). To say we are both obsessed is a mild understatement. My teeth have never felt or looked so clean. My dentist is always telling me to brush in a circular motion but that’s dang hard on your own! Or at least you have to be very thoughtful while brushing your teeth and if you’re anything like me you want your teeth brushing to be mindless. Right?! Well that’s what this brush is all about. It brushes in the circular motion ALL ON IT’S OWN and it’s timed for the suggested 2-minute brush time. So truly, it’s mindless I start brushing, just move the brush over my teeth and it lets me know when I’m good to go. Yesterday I packed my whole gym bag while brushing my teeth because I had to think that little.
Side note: I just wrote an extensive paragraph on teeth brushing and the mindlessness of it. I never thought I’d see the day.
So, another well loved Christmas gift was this sweater. I snapped this picture as I was quickly running out the door for work, hence the lack of smile! I have it in the olive color, which I normally wouldn’t grab but because I already have 350 neutral colored sweaters I decided to go for a not-so-common-but-still-neutral color. It’s amazing how much you can pair with this sweater! It is also extremely comfortable and perfect for three out of four seasons here in New England. Pieces like this become total staples for me because they are so versatile. Also, it fits true to size.
OH. MY. WORD. Because of our obsession with ice cream, my cousin suggested we try Halo Top and guys, I’m obsessed. I’m sure many of you have heard of it by now but Peter and I both absolutely love it. It’s not dairy free but it is low in sugar and high in protein. Also, most importantly, it’s freaking DELICIOUS. Current favorites are birthday cake, strawberry, oatmeal cookie and red velvet. But truly, we’ve tried most flavors and have loved them all!
I’ve seen EVERYONE enjoying these delicious bars over the last few months but just never got around to trying them. Well now they’re my favorite! I’m really trying to focus on eating real foods and that’s what this bar is all about. Plus, they taste amazing so it really can’t be beat. My favorite flavors are Chocolate Sea Salt and Maple Sea Salt. I’ve gotten them at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s!
Have you watched?! Totally did not expect to love this show as much as we do! It was recommended to us by Peter’s sister and once we finished Ray Donovan last week we decided to give it a try. AMAZING. I am completely fascinated by the history of Queen Elizabeth II now! I had no idea there was such complexity, struggle and controversy surrounding her becoming Queen and her subsequent reign. Once again, Netflix totally knocks it out of the park. I’d say more than half of my most recent favorite shows have been Netflix Originals. Keep doing you, Netflix because, I for one, am loving it. Insert double high five emoji here.
And that’s a wrap my friends! It feels so good to be back on the blog again. Two posts in one week? Who am I?! A blogger or something?! #tryingtobe
See you, Monday!
